Day 1

Trip Details:

Introduction to sea kayaking on open water. Learn paddling strokes, J-leans, wet exits and re-entries, and safety procedures at a comfortable beachside location.

Plus, learn cutting-edge navigational techniques using the latest technologies and important web resources on an Apple iPad (wind speeds & direction, wave heights, etc) and classic techniques on compasses and GPS technology. All the skills you need for planning successful sea kayaking trips!

Start Times:

8:30 in Paris (we shuttle you to Long Point)

10:00 in Long Point

Skill Level:

Novices will enjoy excellent quality paddling, safety and navigational instruction.

Advanced paddlers will enjoy our expert practical navigation instruction.

Day 2

Trip Details:

Utilize the skills you learned Day 1 & enjoy a full tour of Long Point World Biosphere on the protected bay with a break for lunch on Pottahawk Point. This open water destination is ideal because the peninsula creates a large bay protected from prevailing winds, keeping the waters shallow and calm even though it's a large water surface. On the other side of the peninsula, just a couple minutes away you get the long sandy beach, large swells and extreme paddling conditions of a Great Lake.

Because of our experience, knowledge of the area, up-to-the-minute information from the web via the Apple iPad, professional equipment, and important resources we can alter our route on a whim to suit any conditions, any day.  A truly unforgettable paddling adventure!

Skill Level:

Everyone of any skill level will enjoy the pleasant, scenic paddle plus novices get the added bonus of expert instruction and tips.

Come paddle with us at our favourite destination, Long Point Bay on Lake Erie - an internationally recognized World Biosphere and the 2nd largest sand peninsula in the world. It is a paddler's paradise and you will encounter wildlife large and small of all kinds. Treat yourself to some of Southern Ontario's most beautiful sights and enjoy the area's best sandy beaches all the way! This course will build your confidence as a competent paddler, improve your adaptability and provide a truly unforgettable experience (as well as some amazing pictures!)

Pricing:

This instructional trip is best experienced as a full package, as it is executed with both days in mind. Both days plus camping accommodations at Long Point Provincial Park for the fully inclusive rate of $298.95/person.

If you can do only one day, we are happy to accommodate you based on availability for the price of $135/person. Both prices include a professional-grade sea kayak, paddle, life jacket, skirt, fresh locally made lunch, expert guide, shuttle service. The inclusive rate additionally includes camping and additional shuttling.
