Cayuga Run

Guided Packages

Cayuga Run

Launching from our private docks at our century-old downtown Paris shop, you’ll paddle past this small town’s historic riverside architecture.  Outside of Paris you leave civilization behind as nature offers plenty to see & do on this trip. This run is mostly a relaxing paddle, with dashes of small rapids to keep your interest piqued. You’ll be able to see the Great Blue Herons, Ospreys, Mallard ducks, turtles and perhaps deer on the riverbank & an occasional Bald Eagle. Your guide will introduce you to remnants of a world long past. Explore the remains of a 150 year-old gypsum mine, a key to Paris’ history. Walk the White Cedar trail meandering along the high banks of the Carolinian forest bordering the Grand & enjoy the view from the lookout point. Your guide will tell stories of the Native tribe that frequented those same paths 400 years ago & the first European settlers to the area. In this section of the river, you can take time to step into one of the many cold springs feedin

g into the river to experience relief from the summer’s heat. If you approach quietly, you might spot a beaver or a muskrat as you float past Whiteman’s Creek. The trip ends in Brant Park Conservation Area in Brantford. We can set up camping arrangements for you if you would like to add an overnight stay to your adventure. Otherwise, you’ll be on your way home with some great memories to last you till your next trip.

Note: As you can park at our outfitters shop in Paris & our complimentary shuttle transports you back from BRANT PARK, you can avoid the Park's $6/person Entrance Fee.
