Start your day with a leisure paddle down the scenic Grand River. Paddle from Glen Morris to Paris with breathtaking views of the rare Carolinian Forest. Stop along the river for a picnic lunch, prepared by Café de Paris, with the natural sounds of birds chirping and squirrels scampering to entertain your ears. Keep your eyes in the sky for eagles and along the shoreline for deer taking an afternoon stroll through the forest. The guide will be with you along the way to teach you about the history and wildlife of the area. After your paddle you can stop to enjoy dinner at one of Paris’ many restaurants (some have riverside patios). Then head over to Nith River Ranch where Wranglers Dani and Chad will get you outfitted and take you to the Sand Ring for a brief lesson before taking you for a sunset tour where you can immerse yourself in the hundreds of acres of forest, field and farm along the Nith River. Wrangler Dani has over 16 years experience with team penning, sorting, reining, barrel racing, as well as hunter and jumper disciplines. You could call her an expert when it comes to horses. She will show you anything you want to know about these beautiful animals! Wrangler Chad attended Kemptville College for the Agricultural and Equine Program and graduated with certifications under the Canadian Equestrian Federation. He’s a true farmer and is always glad to share his vast knowledge of ranching with you!
